Meet Alida Roberts
A Trusted, Compassionate Therapist
I have been in private practice in Wotton‑under‑Edge since 1999, offering therapy for adults and young people aged 16 and over. My background also includes six years as a school counsellor, supporting 11–16 year olds with a wide range of emotional and wellbeing needs.
I work with clients both short‑term and long‑term, depending on what feels right for them. My approach is humanistic, placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work. I aim to hold each client at the centre of the process, adapting my style to suit their pace and needs. With many years of experience, I draw on a range of therapeutic tools to support whatever the client brings.
I work with a wide variety of issues, including adult and childhood trauma, abuse, bereavement, pet bereavement, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, bullying, workplace stress, work pressure, and work–life balance challenges.
Alongside my therapy practice, I also work as a clinical supervisor, offering both individual and group supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists.
My qualifications include a Person‑Centred and Transactional Analysis Counselling Diploma, an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, an Embodied Relational Therapy Diploma and Advanced Diploma, and a Diploma in Supervision. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). In addition to this, I am also enhanced DBS checked.
In addition to my psychotherapy and counselling work, I am also a qualified Bowen Therapist and Reiki Practitioner, offering a holistic approach to wellbeing.
